The Great British Alternative Music Festival hits Minehead 8^th-11^th March 2019 at the wonderful Butlins Minehead Resort for what promises to be cracking mash up of Alt, Punk, Ska, and related good-time malarkey.

Gracing the Minehead location this year, this sister event to the regular Alternative Festival in Skegness looks to be another splendid addition to the Butlins Big Weekend Music roster. Musically GBAMF offers the likes of The Skids, Sham 69, The Wildhearts, The Undertones, Blockhead, From The Jam, Bad Manners, The Neville Staple Band, Hazel O'Connor, and Toyah. It’s all a rather eclectic mix over a packed three-night weekend. Do check out the famous Butlins Introducing stage too, where upcoming artists ply their trade – it typically unearths some real delights.

Butlins rightly covers all the bases in their regular music weekends, but make no mistake about it – events like GBAMF are true indoor winter music festivals. They provide a festival crowd, and importantly, a festival atmosphere, and are the perfect antidote for those festival goers missing their summer festival fix. In many respects, events like GBAMF distil all the best bits of a festival, gig, and rock cabaret, without the mud and the loos! The facilities are absolutely on the button at the Minehead resort. Expect large auditoria holding thousands, excellent dining and accommodation options, and a great atmosphere. Away from the festival, there are all the other famous Butlins entertainment offerings like the excellent Waterworld, pool halls, arcades, great bars and a whole host of other quality shenanigans. Remember that the lovely seaside resort of Minehead is only a few minutes walk away too. It all comes together to provide a great musical holiday weekend. There really is nothing not to like.
