The Great British Folk Festival returns to the excellent Butlins Resort at Skegness 29th November-2nd December 2019.
Boasting arguably the best line-up for many a year, and hosted at Butlins Skegness, this festival promises to be a genuine winter musical spectacular. There is nothing much to fault about the venue with large auditoria, great facilities, all the various Butlins offerings (Splash world, Ten Pin Bowling, etcetera, etcetera) and a range of accommodation and dining packages to suit all tastes and pockets. Our Festival For All Reviewers love the Butlins music festival breaks for a real festival experience in the depth of winter. Their resorts offer a truly contemporary experience and provide an excellent location to enjoy fine music with thousands of other like-minded souls. If you adore festivals and home comforts, then take our word for it, these Butlins weekends really are special, with pricing firmly in bargain territory for all the goodies on offer.
2019 sees the likes of Steeleye Span, Merry Hell, Skerryvore, Peatbog Faeries, Skippinish, Barbara Dickson, Cara Dillon, Tom Robinson, Martyn Joseph, and Red Hot Chilli Pipers gracing the multiple stages. With around fifty acts appearing over a packed weekend, there genuinely is something for everyone from the polished folk rock of the splendid Merry Hell and Steeleye Span, through the psychedelic house of the mighty Peatbogs, to the classic folk ballads of Dillon and Dickson, and rounded off with the celtic pipe mayhem of Skerryvore, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, and Skippinish. Throw in the likes of Robinson, Reader, and Meuross, et al and it promises to be highlight after highlight over a great weekend of music.
