So you lovely loungers, as we are only 3 weeks away from show day, so we thought we better let you know who’s first on stage. We’ve got some other exciting news on the non-musical side too. TICKETS: From Ticketline
Friends Electric
It’s uncanny that the last song to be played on the main stage by Gary Numan was Friends Electric and the first artists on the main stage will be a band called Friends Electric. Oh what a funny world we live in. Any hoo, you’ll love them. They headlined the BBC Introducing stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and recently recorded live sessions for Radio 1 and Radio 2. So, if you haven’t heard their slinky rhythms then you better get down to the main stage for mid day on Saturday… as that when they kick off the festival… welcome on board guys.
Congratulations to our winners of The Northcote manor competition on facebook and the lucky winner of the night at Yorkshire’s finest country house hotels, The Devonshire Arms. Talk about proper prizes!
Ian J Lea
Roaming the nooks and crannies of The Magic Loungeabout will be Ian, a slight of hand magician. He will share oddities and unusual feats that seem to break the laws of logic creating moments of excitement and astonishment. This versatile type of magic can be performed almost anywhere, so don’t be shocked if he pops his head through your tent zip! He’s the perfect addition to our weekend.
Magic Summer Ale
This year we have created our own Summer Ale, with a little help from a master brewer called Ged in Hebden Bridge. It was a tough evening tasting all the different type of brews, but luckily we wrote down the combination of flavours we liked on the back of a beer matt, which of course was stuck to my forehead when I woke up on the sofa the next morning. Worth it though!
DOTB
DJ’s, producers and certainly not party poopers… They will be bringing an 80s dance edit flavor to our Saturday night in The Food for Thought Bar. It’s all those oldies with a modern twist. It’s clever stuff, so clever you’ll feel 21 again. I promise.
Welcome along to Chillax , which is a new herbal relaxing drink coming exclusively to The Magic Loungeabout. If you can’t handle the energy drinks anymore and you are looking for something completely natural, then this could be your savour! Look out for them in The Food for Thought bar where they will be decorating our Papakatas chill out areas. I’ve seen the drawings, it’s going to be sumptuous.
And FinallyI’d like to say a special thanks to our biggest supporter, our very own tourist board. They are called Welcome to Yorkshire. It is only with support like this that ensures that we can give you a better variety of entertainment and we are truly grateful for their encouragement and additional help in telling more of you about what we have created.
