It’s one of the most enjoyable weekends in the festival calendar and this year the organisers of the annual V Festival have done themselves proud. Just look at the line-up...Rihanna, Eminem, Arctic Monkeys, Plan B...The list goes on and on.

If you are off to one of the V sites in either Chelmsford or Staffordshire the first thing you have to bear in mind is in some parts the ground will be uneven, so wheelchair users should be prepared for the odd bumpy ride.

If your electric wheelchair needs charging make your way over to the welfare tent or the viewing platform for the V stage, there you will find a wheelchair-charging point which will be sufficient for 90% of chairs.

Make sure you bring your blue badge or you will asked to pay a £8 parking fee, once inside you will be able to park up in the disabled campsite. Of course you are welcome to park in the general car parks as well.

Where V trumps over other certain festivals is that disabled viewing platforms are located on the four main arenas (V stage, 4 Music Stage, The Arena and Virgin Media Union) so if your favourite act is performing inside a big top there will be a viewing platform available. You must have a valid wristband to gain access to the platforms and please be aware each platform has its own capacity.

The organisers at V are excellent when it comes to disabled access and this weekend ABLE2UK will be on site reviewing the facilities for a forthcoming article which will be published online next week and a review of a headline act.
