THE LEISURE LOUNGE Curated by Count Indigo, The New Untouchables and Guilty Pleasures
The Leisure Lounge is where the tunes are king. Friday’s Mod Club is presented by The New Untouchables and features authentic R&B Mod Sounds from London clubs like the Scene and Flamingo to the hipster Beat / Pop of 'swinging London' and clubs like Tiles.
Popular Song, Easy Listening and the lighter side of life come together to delight the ear and gently stir the emotions on Saturday as Count Indigo presents a futuristic house party. At the flick of a switch twilight falls and the fun spills over into an evening of dancing and laughter. The scene is set for a series of seriously swinging and swellegant soirees.
The mood is more futuristic house party than pop festival stage, mixed with elements of a 1960s music television studio and the Talk of the Town. As you step into this hemisphere of influence you are suddenly transported to Honolulu…or perhaps somewhere east of Java…as we travel through the mysterious sounds of vibraphone, bird calls, sonorous bass and explosive percussion.
And on Sunday Guilty Pleasures host a marathon of songs you know you shouldn’t like.
Lovers of the Leisure Lounge will also be pleased to know that Bob Stanley (St Etienne) will curate our Sunday Revue in the RFH Auditorium - The Hit Parade celebrating best of British songwriting with special guest vocalists re-imagining great British tunes with an orchestral backing.
