War Child UK has teamed up with four of the UK’s most exciting festivals to provide fantastic opportunities for keen music and charity fans. Experience Field Day, Lovebox, Citadel and Wilderness festivals absolutely free and do something brilliant for a good cause, by signing up to become a volunteer with War Child
Whether fans simply want to experience the buzz and atmosphere of a festival or have missed out on tickets to see their favourite band – volunteering with War Child is the perfect way to embrace the festival spirit and help a fantastic cause at the same time.
War Child has 605 volunteering opportunities from a one day commitment to an extra special long weekend. All of the roles are stewarding, and volunteers will be the eyes and ears of the festival organisers. From providing information to festival goers, directing queues at box offices, manning emergency exits next to the main stage, and generally making sure everyone is happy and safe.
A volunteer for War Child in 2016 said “I had an amazing time volunteering with War Child at Wilderness. It was such a unique opportunity to play a part in something so important, and raise awareness for children that really need our help. I made some great friends who I’ll stay in touch with and of course, saw some of my favourite bands. For free!”
At Field Day, Lovebox and Citadel festivals, volunteers are asked to complete a six hour shift per day and receive free entry to the festival and a meal voucher per shift. A deposit of £40 is required for first-time volunteers and £20 for students and returning volunteers, which will be refunded following the event.
At Wilderness volunteers will be required to do three eight-hour shifts over the four festival days, with a meal voucher per shift and the chance to access the festival after each one, along with a day off to experience the event. All volunteers will be needed at the Wilderness festival site from 2 – 7 August and will have access to the designated War Child camping area.
A deposit of £80 is required for first-time volunteers at Wilderness and £40 for students and returning volunteers, which will be refunded following the event.
