The Willowman festival has made day tickets available for its Summer Solstice shindig.

Described as North Yorkshires only four day music festival, the Willowman is set to take place near the historic market town of Northallerton between the 21st and 24th June.

The decision to make day tickets available has been based on a number of reasons according to event organiser Steve Williams.

He explained “Many local people are curious about the Willowman but have never attended a music festival before and the day ticket option allows them to dip their toe in the water and hopefully come back next year and camp up for the whole weekend.”

Steve has also been keen to accommodate fans for specific acts. He said “Hugh Cornwall is a great example, he has a very strong fan base and many of his fans can only attend Willowman on Saturday night, the day ticket option now means they will not miss out on some summer solstice fun.”

A recent site move to Hillside Rural Activities Park has also contributed to the release of day tickets. Willowman media and marketing officer Sid Ambrose commented “The new festival site has a number of advantages including our ability to better separate camping and parking, this is great news for the event as a whole but particularly welcome to those who through work or other commitments can only attend for the one day.”

The 2012 Willowman has its most eclectic line up to date with a handpicked selection of household names and breakthrough artists flagging up this weekend as an all age’s event.

Four stages will play host to over fifty acts which includes Utah Saints, Jah Wobble, Vintage Trouble, Neville Staple band, Hugh Cornwall and Benjamin Francis Leftwich.

Day tickets have been priced at £30.00 for 12 years and above. Free parking is included with the ticket. Potential day-trippers are strongly advised to book in advance to avoid disappointment on the gate.
