Y Not an independent festival once again - Photo by Alex WilliamsThe Peak District's Y Not Festival has returned to its original management team, Count Of Ten, three years after being acquired by media and entertainment giant Global.

The team will be headed up by operations manager Jason Oakley (Operations Manager, Count of Ten) who had fundamental involvement in Y Not Festival since its inception. Intrinsic to the grassroots team, Jason helped grow the festival from an over-spilling house party into a nationally acclaimed, award-winning festival with over 25,000 attendees.

“We are incredibly excited for this new era for Y Not and we’re looking forward to what we believe will be an amazing future, working on the festival that’s meant so much to us all. All our energy and focus is now on giving the Y Notter’s the best possible festivals that we can.  We’re already excited to open the gates for 2019, which we are certain will be the best yet.”

The change of ownership is likely to see an increase in local suppliers, and have invited festival goers for their input into the 2020 event.

This year's Y Not festival takes place from Thursday 25th - Sunday 28th July at Pikehall, Derbyshire, the line up includes Elbow, Two Door Cinema Club and Foals, Franz Ferdinand, You Me At Six, Wolf Alice, Don Broco, Happy Mondays, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Damned, Idles and Fontaines DC.
