‘A Broken State of Bliss’ debut album due out this autumn
Described by Kerrang! Radio’s Alex Baker as a band possessing “killer riffs, monstrous vocals and more hooks than a slaughterhouse” London’s unsigned heavy-rock combo THE MERCY HOUSE have spent the last year and a half going from strength to strength. They have won over audiences across the country with their unique brand of street metal and one of the most energetic live shows around.
Since coming together in late 2009, the band has had tracks featured on both Metal Hammer and Classic Rock’s cover CDs and received regular airplay on Bruce Dickinson’s BBC 6 Music Rock Show, Kerrang! Radio and Total Rock Radio. One of their biggest achievements of 2010 was winning Kerrang! Magazine’s Guitar Hero competition to have one of their tracks featured in the game, which led to a two-page spread feature on the band in the mag. Following Guitar Hero’s folding in 2011, Harmonix and the Rock Band franchise snapped at the chance to add The Mercy House to their roster of artists and save the day.
After spending the last few months in the studio recording their self-produced debut, “A Broken State of Bliss” (due out later this year) and following their triumphant festival appearance at this year’s Hammerfest III (alongside the likes of Accept, Satyricon and Entombed); the band are now due to embark on a UK-wide tour kicking off in Birmingham on August 28th and finishing up with a slot at Brighton’s Grand Finale Festival at the Concorde 2. Bringing their fans a chance to hear much of the new material from the album and promising to bring a show not to be missed! THE MERCY HOUSE areDrew – Vocals, Dany – Guitar, Dan – Lead Guitar, W.R. – Bass, Nick – Drums
