Wychwood Festival 2025 promises an exciting and diverse celebration of music, arts, and family fun, taking place from Friday 30th May to Sunday 1st June at Cheltenham Racecourse. Renowned for its family-friendly atmosphere and eclectic programming, the festival features an impressive line up of performances, workshops, and activities catering to all ages.

This year’s line up showcases a mix of iconic acts and emerging talent. Headliners James, Shed Seven, and Doves lead the bill, with each offering standout performances. James, one of Britain’s most enduring indie bands, is known for classics like “Sit Down” and “Laid”. Their emotionally charged live performances have earned them a loyal following over their decades-long career. Shed Seven, Britpop icons famed for hits such as “Chasing Rainbows” and “Going for Gold”, are fresh off a historic 2024 where they scored two number-one albums.

Frontman Rick Witter shared his excitement:

We are really looking forward to coming back to play at Wychwood Festival. Expect big songs and rock and roll. See you down the front!

Doves, meanwhile, bring their atmospheric anthems like “There Goes the Fear” and “Pounding” to the stage after a three-year hiatus, coinciding with their anticipated new album Constellations for the Lonely.

Joining them are crowd favourites like Public Service Broadcasting, celebrated for blending post-rock with historical storytelling, and The Zutons, whose timeless hit “Valerie” remains a festival favourite. Scouting For Girls, beloved for their infectious pop hits like “She’s So Lovely”, are set to entertain with their feel-good vibes. Songhoy Blues adds a unique global flair, with soulful desert blues rooted in Malian traditions, while The Magic Numbers promise uplifting harmonies. The energetic Gentleman’s Dub Club is known for their dynamic performances, while Goldie Lookin Chain’s witty rhymes bring humour and nostalgia. Fisherman’s Friends, who sparked a viral revival of sea shanties, will offer a traditional musical twist.

Howlin’ Pete’s, the festival’s centre of amusement, returns with quirky performances and entertainment. Tribute acts such as The Smyths and karaoke legend Barrioke are set to delight, alongside crowd-pleasers like The Beatles Dub Club and The Ogretones, a Shrek-themed tribute band.

Beyond music, Wychwood offers a packed programme of activities. Families can enjoy circus skills, magic workshops, drumming, and yoga for both adults and children. Fitness enthusiasts can join celebrity trainer Joe Wicks for a live P.E. session on the main stage. The vibrant Sunday Parade, comedy acts, and the Storybox Kids’ Literature Festival provide further entertainment, while the Silent Disco and Healing Gardens cater to relaxation and late-night fun.

Graeme Merifield, Wychwood Festival’s co-founder, expressed his joy about the 2025 edition:

Bringing Shed Seven after their historic success and welcoming Doves during their comeback is thrilling. But it’s not just about chart hits – we’re also bringing HIITs with Joe Wicks!

Building on the success of 2024, which featured Sister Sledge, Texas, and Ocean Colour Scene, Wychwood continues to attract growing audiences from across the UK. Whether you’re seeking iconic performances, unique activities, or quality time with family, Wychwood Festival 2025 is shaping up to be an unmissable summer experience.
